COVID-19 Pandemic

The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) occurred suddenly in March 2020. One day we all came home and started teleworking and home-schooling. Four households quickly became close friends in this time of uncertainty. I had been at 1318 since 1996. The Selck family at 1320 had arrived in 2019. The Lyons had been at 1322 about 20 years raising their daughter. The rental units at Karen Evans' house at 1316 hadn't been very social.

The great pandemic of 2020 changed everything. Our four houses became close. Most Fridays we gathered in our front yards for movies, drinks, birthday parties, and a 2021 Seder. Halloweens were socially distanced but still fun. Oktoberfests, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve were shared in the back yards of 1318 and 1320.

We all started the adventure with groceries being delivered to our doorsteps. We all got vaccinated in early 2021 and boosted late in the year.

The pandemic was horrible, but there were silver linings. We all became close friends and helped each other.
